Terms of Service
Using Lair
Effective 6 October 2026. These terms explain what you can expect from Lair and what we ask of you.
1. Our agreement
These Terms of Service are an agreement between you and the team operating Lair ("Lair", "we", "us"). They apply to lair.so, your personal Lair at lair.page or a connected custom domain, and the agents and integrations you connect. By creating an account or using Lair, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't create an account or use the service.
Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data. You can reach us at team@hellolair.com.
2. Your account and name
You must be at least 18, or the age of legal adulthood where you live, and able to enter into this agreement. If you use Lair for an organisation, you must have permission to agree on its behalf. Give us an email address you control and keep your account information accurate.
Keep your sign-in codes, sessions, passkeys, integration keys and agent links secure. You're responsible for activity you authorise through your account. Tell us promptly if you think someone has gained access without your permission.
Lair is invite-only. An invite gives you permission to sign up; it doesn't guarantee a particular name or access forever. Names must follow the signup rules. We reserve names for our service, staff, trusted services and safety. Don't use a name that impersonates someone, misleads people, infringes their rights, or contains abusive or hateful language. Names and invites aren't yours to sell. We may restrict a name that breaks these rules; contact us if you think we've made a mistake.
3. Your content stays yours
You keep ownership of the content you put in your Lair. You give us permission to store, process and display it only as needed to provide, secure and maintain the service, including carrying out the actions you authorise. This permission ends when the content is deleted, except for temporary backups or records we must keep by law, as described in our Privacy Policy.
Only add content you have the right to use. You're responsible for what you upload, share or ask an agent to do. A share link makes its shared view available to anyone with the link, so check it before sending it. Keep your own copies of anything you can't afford to lose; you can download your data in Settings → General → Your data.
Lair's branding, software and design remain ours or our licensors'. These terms give you permission to use the service for its intended purpose while you follow them; they don't transfer ownership of Lair.
4. Agents, integrations, boards and apps
You choose which agents and services to connect and what they may do. An agent can read or change information within the permissions you give it. Review those permissions and important actions, keep secret links private, and disconnect an agent you no longer trust.
AI output can be wrong, incomplete or out of date. Check it before relying on it, especially for health, legal, financial or other important decisions. Lair is a personal organisation tool; it isn't professional advice or an emergency service.
Other companies run the agents, payment services and integrations you choose. Their own terms and privacy policies apply to those services. We don't control their availability or output. Only connect accounts, keys, APIs and custom domains you are entitled to use. Review custom HTML, app cards and full-page apps before enabling internet access.
5. Acceptable use
Use Lair lawfully and respect other people. You must not use it to:
- Commit fraud, impersonate others, phish, send spam or distribute malware.
- Threaten, harass or exploit people; promote violence or hatred; or create or distribute child sexual abuse material or other illegal content.
- Infringe intellectual property, privacy or other rights, or publish someone else's confidential information without permission.
- Access another person's Lair, steal credentials, bypass authentication or sandbox protections, or evade account bans or rate limits.
- Overload the service, interfere with its operation, or use integrations to attack or abuse another service.
These rules also apply to agents acting for you. If you find a security issue, report it privately to team@hellolair.com. Don't access other people's data or disrupt the service while investigating it.
6. Free and paid plans
Free and Pro have different limits and features, shown in Lair and on the plan page. If you choose a paid plan, the checkout shows its price, currency, taxes, billing interval and any trial before you confirm. Stripe processes the payment.
A subscription renews automatically at the interval shown at checkout until you cancel. If a trial requires a payment method, billing starts when the trial ends unless you cancel beforehand. You can manage or cancel your subscription in your Lair under Settings → Plan → Manage billing. The portal shows when cancellation takes effect. If you can't access it, email us for help.
Deleting your Lair cancels a running subscription and ends access immediately. Cancellation or deletion doesn't automatically refund earlier charges. Contact us about billing errors or refund requests; any refund or cancellation rights required by applicable law still apply. Failed or overdue payments may end access to paid features.
We'll give advance notice of changes to an existing subscription's price or material paid features, with an opportunity to cancel before they take effect. Changes won't retroactively increase charges for a period already paid for.
7. Availability and changes
We aim to provide Lair with reasonable care, but we can't promise uninterrupted access, error-free output or that every integration will always work. Maintenance, security incidents and failures of outside services can interrupt access. Features may evolve, particularly during early access.
If we discontinue the service or materially reduce a paid feature, we'll give reasonable notice where possible, allow you to export your data, and provide any refund or other remedy you're entitled to under applicable law.
8. Suspension and leaving
We may limit or suspend access if you materially break these terms, pose a security risk, or if the law requires it. Where appropriate, we'll explain the reason and give you an opportunity to fix it or appeal. Urgent safety or legal issues may require immediate action.
You can stop using Lair at any time, cancel a subscription through the customer portal, or delete your Lair in Settings → General → Your data. Download anything you want to keep first. Deletion removes your account and Lair data and stops your agent links from working; it can't be undone through Lair. Contact us if you need help leaving or want to appeal a restriction.
9. Responsibility and your rights
We're responsible for providing the service with reasonable care and for losses that applicable law makes us responsible for. To the extent the law allows, we're not responsible for losses caused by your misuse of Lair, actions you authorise, or failures of third-party services outside our control.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that can't lawfully be excluded, including for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence. Nothing takes away mandatory consumer rights, statutory guarantees, or your right to seek a remedy or bring a claim in a court available to you under applicable law.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the service or legal requirements change. We'll update the date on this page and give reasonable advance notice of material changes by email or in Lair, unless an urgent legal or security reason requires a quicker change. Changes apply going forward. If you don't agree, you can stop using Lair, export your data and cancel your subscription before the change takes effect.
If one part of these terms can't be enforced, the remaining parts still apply. Questions, concerns or a billing problem? Email team@hellolair.com and we'll work with you to resolve it.
